Actually care about your work effort you put into your school year. Dont be pure pressure. Keep your grades up, and keep working hardest to strive toward your dreams. Keep your chin up and you will do fine with your peers.Don't hang around with people that will have negative impact on you. Work your hardest to overcome your dreams, and let your dreams become reality. That way your dreams are bigger than your hopes.
Good advice to take your freshman year seriously because it will follow you in you're whole year in high school. Also be careful of choice you pick and say no to any drugs.
Don't let anyone tell you that you can't reach your goal/dream.
Congrats to you, Kevin. You followed your dream and best of luck in making it all come true. You've got what it takes and it's been a pleasure knowing you.
Stay on top of your work and don't slack off. The year goes by fast and you won't realize it till the last two months of the school year.
dont try to act older than you are. You are still so young so dont stress life to much yet.
Dear Freshman, high school is going to suck! But don't be an idiot and skip all your classes because you'll feel like a fool when you're doing backflips to try and graduate.
always try your hardest at phs and have as much school spirit as possible. don't constantly talk during your classes because it will not only anger the teachers but it will also anger the students and distract them as well and you don't need to get in trouble for being a distraction to others
To newcomers at PHS: Stay focused in your classes and enjoy high school. Use the crosswalks, or at least make sure no cars are coming when you cross the road.
I my self think you were a great teacher and you showed us what we really can do. For the past three years this is the first year I actually liked english class.
I would like to say be prepared for essays and just stay on task of things everything will fly by and soon you will wish things would slow down coming towards the end of the school year.
Do not dwell on the past look to the future and move on.
Enjoy it as much as you can. Make memories you'll like to always remember because before you know it, you'll be walking down the stage to get your diploma.
To sum it up, do more... care less.
Your so english u made me see what engish is about and what its like to be real bout english so inpsiring YAS - MRS QUINN (the english guru)
Thanks for the kind words. I always enjoyed your unique take on all things English. Keep thinking outside the box!
Try to take freshmen year seriously because it has a much larger impact of your future then you think.
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME BECAUSE AT THE END YOU WILL WISH YOU HAD MORE... DON'T TAKE TOO MANY DIFFICULT CLASSES BECAUSE AT THE END IT WILL NOT MAKE MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE AT THE END. BE NICE TO EVERYONE. YOU KNOW I CARE SINCE I HAD TO HOLD SHIFT THE WHOLE TIME TO WRITE THIS
I advise that you keep an open mind during this crucial point in your life. "Those who can not change their mind, cannot change anything."
just be yourself.get involved in school clubs or sports but challenge your self and if your a good student you wont have a problem in my four years at phs i have never got in trouble.i wish i was out going and involved in freshman year it took me 4 years to show people the real me i suggest you show people the real you earlier
To upcoming students, your #1 priorities should be your education and your family. If I could go back in time I would put education very first because that's the only way to get out of Pittsfield. To the kids who stay in on weekends, the kids who don't get all these retweets and likes on twitter and instagram, the kids who don't have many friends, to the kids who are "different", who are afraid to come to school everyday because of bullies, who would rather read a book than get drunk, who would rather work than party, the kids who bust their butt in school and get no recognition by anyone, keep doing you. You're hard work and good decisions will pay off someday. You will be the people that make a difference in this world.
do not be the kid who skips thier classes to go 420 blaze it at the skate park attend your classes and try to hand home work in on time
Enjoy your 4 years here. It will go by so quick.
Stay on top of your work
My advice to any freshman is don't be scared PHS is a big school but you will get used to it and dont be dumb keep up on your work try new things and don't slack off because once you make it to 12th grade and you walk across the stage it will be one of your proudest moments and all your hard work will pay off.
Enjoy every single moment. Always try harder and stay out of trouble. :)
My advice for freshman is that when you start the school don't feel less than other because we all has pass in 9 grade, not because you are new in the school will let others treat you as nothing. Also enjoy every single moment at phs, work very hard, enjoy Mr. collingsworh class if you wanna have fun. keep your grate up and get out of trouble. good luck on your new year at PHS.
I know that you may feel lazy at times, you may try to get out of doing an assignment or two. And as much as everyone does that, dont go overboard. Do work that you can one day take pride in. So when it is your last year you wont have any last minute worries or panics. Think now about where youde like to be in four years. And from that do what you need to, to get there. Or if you think that its a waste of time now or that it will happen anyways, dont be surprised senior year when everyone is talking about what colleges they got into, why you are not being accepted or in the worse case, are not graduating. If you work hard, and respect yourself as well as those around you, when that day youve been dreaming of for years comes, you will see it has been well worth the wait.
My advice to upcoming freshman is to try your hardest no matter what. I know I regret not giving my freshman year my all and that made the next three years a bit challenging. Make sure to respect your upperclassmen and teachers. Don't let the upperclassmen walk all over you and bully you, but give them respect and they'll give it back. You'll earn your spot so be patient. As for respecting your teachers they're the ones who can write you letters of recommendation for college, and help you succeed in life. Also make sure to get involved in sports or other after school activities. It makes you feel apart of the school community and helps you make life long friends fast. And don't skip classes its pointless you miss out on work and you'll only have to make up the classes later.
Be yourself, get a job, save money, and keep your grades up
Enjoy the 4 years work hard and don't skip class.
My advice to upcoming freshman is to enjoy high school while it lasts because it goes by in the blink of an eye.
Get involved in after school activities. As junior year approaches start looking into colleges and careers and ask yourself what you want to do when you graduate. Do not wait!
School is really is not that hard. As long as you stay on top of your work, it's easy. Enjoy every moment of every year. Before you know it you'll be on stage with your friends family and your daploma. So get your work done, keep a smile on your face, because it will all be worth it. trust me.
Don't blow off your school work and let your grades drop .Youll regret later on when you realize you could have done better
Stay on top of your work and get into activities in freshmen year because you might regret it later. For instance, this is my first and last year of doing the lighting for the theater. I found out that it is really fun and interesting and I wish I had looked into it sooner.
Plus, free admission to the plays because you're part of the play.
Dont be lazy, work hard in and out of school, hang around with the right crowd, and be yourself. Its all not that hard and you will be done before you know it. YEE YEE
My advice to freshman is not to procrastinate you work, hand everything in on time and enjoy high school as much as you can these 4 years will go by in a blink of an eye and if you don't stop and look around every once in a while you wont enjoy it. You only get to go to high school once. Don't be the person to ditch class every day and go smoke at the skate park and ruin your life stay dedicated to school as much as possible and remember this is your future. You can be someone who works at the super market bagging groceries or a Mc Donalds employee or you can be a lawyer or accountant. Don't stress college just relax your 4 years hear it will be the last time you have the opportunity to be a kid enjoy it. Stay out of drama and Stay Frosty!!!
High school is not as overwhelming with work as you think. If you stay on top of your work, you will not have a lot of problems at the end of each year. Also, make as many friends with as many people as you can by being yourself. People will judge how ever they want, but if your friends like you for who you are, you will not feel alone and high school will be a much better place than it seems like.
Advice to freshmen: Dont be afraid to be yourself. Not everyone you encounter is gonna like you or wanna be your friend. But, once your honest with who you are, the things you want and like, It won't matter because you'll be surrounded by the right people. Also, make your education your number one priority because at the end of the day its all you really have if you want to succeed.
High school isn't for everybody, you'll either like it or you won't. You'll be exposed to a lot of things that people have chosen to get themselves involved in like drugs, alcohol, and violence. You can choose to associate yourself with it, or to stay away from it. Just know that the decisions you make throughout your time here will ultimately influence who you become later in life, for better or worse. Choose wisely.
Do not go to Appleton, stay in school, and only leave in case of an emergency
Be smart, take classes that are going to help you, don't take classes to be with your friends or to take the easy way. Think about how everything you do in high school is going to affect you in the future.
My advice is to try to stay in class and dont skip just to go to appleton and smoke dukes with all the other kids that cant pass a class
freshman - bring your charger
your head screwed on, think twice about desisions, pay more attention to adademics, dont get caught dippin by the administration.
To all the freshman coming into high school, just do you. Be yourself and be the person that you want to be, not what anyone else wants. Join any sports teams or clubs you're thinking about doing don't be scared to try something. Stay focused on what you want to accomplish in high school becuase it goes by faster than you think
For upcoming freshman: focus on your school work, time goes by fast and everything done last minute isn't as efficient. build a friendship with your teacher. Have the courage to explore new things on your own. Have fun with friends, teachers, clubs and activities
I would tell anybody who is coming into this school as a freshman to stay away from ms.esko. also i would tell them to stay on track for 9th 10th and 11th grade so 12th grade is easy. i was the opposite though haha.
Freshmen, comeing into PHS is going to be a change on your daily work load, mid terms and finals are going to be new, your gona get alot more work then 8th grade and your going to end up saveing all the work you have done through out the year for studying so you can pass your mid terms and finals. Each year is going to be different, and end up being harder then the last.
Dont give up on what u believe in
dear incoming freshman,
the first day of school we all go swimming in the pool in the the dome. also dont get discouraged when you f up the chant at the pep rallys, we've all been there
My advice to the upcoming freshman would be to stay focused, don't turn in work at the last minute, and pay attention. The year will be better if you don't slack around.
My advice to students coming to PHS is to actually get involved in the school. I regret not being involved in clubs or the plays, or even the dances the school put on. But, what I do know is that everyone coming to phs should get a chance to go on the Europe trips they put on every year. I went on 2 of them and they were the most amazing experiences and I think everyone should be able to experience that.
take a shop class and dont clog the bathroom sinks with spitters
DONT SLACK OFF. Keep yourself motivated as much as possible. You want to be happy and proud of yourself, not ashamed of a bad grade. Give it your all. I highly reccomend if you want to give back to the community and be a part of something, Best Buddies changed my life. I only joined my senior year but it was amazing. I wish i had done all four years. BE YOURSELF.... don't feed into peer pressure or bad habits. i get it, everyone is curious to what this world has to offer and we try things and experiment with alcohol and drugs and maybe to fit in.... but ask yourself, what are the consequences, the risks, the benefits, is this really yourself? what would your parents say? its really not worth the risk taking.... we all try it and see what the "party" life is like becuase the "cool kids" do it, but dont change who you are and make bad choices to fit in. be a strong person and know right from wrong. be safe. your friends from middle school are about to change, people change. high school is a big world and youre just a little puppy. dont get lost in the crowd, dont fall into bad habits. don't get in the car with a drunk driver, dont put yourself in dangerous situations. Most of all, be you. be happy. give everything your all. 100% effort. into grades, friendships, teachers, relationships. really get to know your teachers and seek help. everyone here is willing to bend over backwards to help you, no matter what the case may be. really dont be afriad to come to ea teacher about anything. . usually when it feels like its the end of the world, its just the beginning!! you cant stop people from talking about you, but you can stop giving them something to talk about.... make smart choices. most of all, have fun! wish you the best of luck! xo
bring lunch money every day for off campus lunch
When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe then you will be successful.
If you need to go to the bathroom, the first floor is your place because most of the year, the second and third floor will be locked!
Stay tru to your squad.
"In order to succeed, we must first believe that we can."
my five favorite teachers are Mrs. Mungin, Mr. Mungin, Mrs.Palatt, Mrs. Renton, and Tanya. They have helped me so much since I have been here and I am very grateful and blessed to have them guide me along the way.
liston what teachers tell you stay away from per preasser and be safe
never give up
Some advice i would give to the upcoming freshman is to just take it day by day & stay on top of your work. you should also try to make it to every class. The year will go by faster if you dont have to worry about your grades or having to do makeup work and attendance work just to pass at the end
Don't skip class and finish all your work
To any upcoming students I suggest to focus on your work and do the best to you're ability. If there's anything I regret doing in high school is not putting and focusing on school first.
It goes by fast, it sucks while your stuck here but its done before you even know what happened. so while your stuck here apply your self and put your all into it. its so easy to say "oh ill do that later" or to push things off to the last minute. BUT DONT your time is too valuable so obsorb all you can out of every class, every teacher's lecture, and your days, because if you dont you will also one day be sitting here righting comments to freshmen like me wishing you had. GOOD LUCK
Do your best and take it serious have your bits of fun here and there but for the most part go with the flow and life here for your 4 years will be easy
All i can say is never fall back on work or anything. Keep your grades high and attendance low. Always strive to better yourself academically, in the end it will all be worth it. Don't slack for your first few years just stay up on everything so your senior year can be breeze and the only thing you have to worry about is which college to choose. Its a great school to learn at if you are willing to absorb the knowledge. Stay in class stay of the streets kids. Don't do drugs either you might die, or you might just expand your mind a little ;)
do all your school work while you can, and dont wait til the last minute with everything because you will regret it.
Take yourself and your work seriously, don't try to impress others by talking back to teachers, the teachers won't want to help you pass if you disrespect them. Get involved in afterschool activities like Sports.
Stay in school. Do your work. Go to class. That's it.
I'd like to leave this year coming freshman advice with , make sure you do really good all 3 years of high school so when senior year comes around you won't have to stress bout it .
Don’t try to be someone you're not just to fit in at school. Be who you are! give all you have. Help people to achieve their goals. Let others help you too. This is the perfect time to decide the path that you want to walk in order to be the best you that you can be. “What starts wrong ends badly, what starts well ... it never ends”. #ContinuouslyGrowing #AlwaysImproving.
always remember at this school is that it was here where I met friends from different countries
I'd like to leave you with this come to school because if you don't it haunts you
To the upcoming freshman, Go to class, do the best you can, don't let anyone bring you down or tell you, you can't achieve your goals. There's always teachers and staff willing to help you with whatever.
To upcoming freshman, you should attend all of your classes because you don't want to not get credit for a class due to your attendance
live high school up while its still here, goes by quickk. make some bombb memories
For upcoming freshman, do all your work from the beginning of high school till the very end and get the best grades you can , because colleges are all about how good your grades are and SAT scores , especially if you play sports, they won't just look at your talent, they'll look at your academics too, they don't just focus on how good you are at sports, got to have both. Don't mess around until you realize its to late to get those grades up.
My best advice would be go to school. Don't skip classes because you're bored or don't like a particular student/teacher. School is actually very important although at the young age you may not think of it that way. Listen to your teachers. If they reprimand you do not get upset, actually think about why. Take as much as you can from school, because even though it may seem so hard.. this part of your life is shaping you for the rest of your life.
