Actually care about your work effort you put into your school year. Dont be pure pressure. Keep your grades up, and keep working hardest to strive toward your dreams. Keep your chin up and you will do fine with your peers.Don't hang around with people that will have negative impact on you. Work your hardest to overcome your dreams, and let your dreams become reality. That way your dreams are bigger than your hopes.

Good advice to take your freshman year seriously because it will follow you in you're whole year in high school. Also be careful of choice you pick and say no to any drugs.

always try your hardest at phs and have as much school spirit as possible. don't constantly talk during your classes because it will not only anger the teachers but it will also anger the students and distract them as well and you don't need to get in trouble for being a distraction to others

To upcoming students, your #1 priorities should be your education and your family. If I could go back in time I would put education very first because that's the only way to get out of Pittsfield. To the kids who stay in on weekends, the kids who don't get all these retweets and likes on twitter and instagram, the kids who don't have many friends, to the kids who are "different", who are afraid to come to school everyday because of bullies, who would rather read a book than get drunk, who would rather work than party, the kids who bust their butt in school and get no recognition by anyone, keep doing you. You're hard work and good decisions will pay off someday. You will be the people that make a difference in this world.

I know that you may feel lazy at times, you may try to get out of doing an assignment or two. And as much as everyone does that, dont go overboard. Do work that you can one day take pride in. So when it is your last year you wont have any last minute worries or panics. Think now about where youde like to be in four years. And from that do what you need to, to get there. Or if you think that its a waste of time now or that it will happen anyways, dont be surprised senior year when everyone is talking about what colleges they got into, why you are not being accepted or in the worse case, are not graduating. If you work hard, and respect yourself as well as those around you, when that day youve been dreaming of for years comes, you will see it has been well worth the wait.

My advice to upcoming freshman is to try your hardest no matter what. I know I regret not giving my freshman year my all and that made the next three years a bit challenging. Make sure to respect your upperclassmen and teachers. Don't let the upperclassmen walk all over you and bully you, but give them respect and they'll give it back. You'll earn your spot so be patient. As for respecting your teachers they're the ones who can write you letters of recommendation for college, and help you succeed in life. Also make sure to get involved in sports or other after school activities. It makes you feel apart of the school community and helps you make life long friends fast. And don't skip classes its pointless you miss out on work and you'll only have to make up the classes later.

My advice to freshman is not to procrastinate you work, hand everything in on time and enjoy high school as much as you can these 4 years will go by in a blink of an eye and if you don't stop and look around every once in a while you wont enjoy it. You only get to go to high school once. Don't be the person to ditch class every day and go smoke at the skate park and ruin your life stay dedicated to school as much as possible and remember this is your future. You can be someone who works at the super market bagging groceries or a Mc Donalds employee or you can be a lawyer or accountant. Don't stress college just relax your 4 years hear it will be the last time you have the opportunity to be a kid enjoy it. Stay out of drama and Stay Frosty!!!

High school is not as overwhelming with work as you think. If you stay on top of your work, you will not have a lot of problems at the end of each year. Also, make as many friends with as many people as you can by being yourself. People will judge how ever they want, but if your friends like you for who you are, you will not feel alone and high school will be a much better place than it seems like.

Advice to freshmen: Dont be afraid to be yourself. Not everyone you encounter is gonna like you or wanna be your friend. But, once your honest with who you are, the things you want and like, It won't matter because you'll be surrounded by the right people. Also, make your education your number one priority because at the end of the day its all you really have if you want to succeed.

High school isn't for everybody, you'll either like it or you won't. You'll be exposed to a lot of things that people have chosen to get themselves involved in like drugs, alcohol, and violence. You can choose to associate yourself with it, or to stay away from it. Just know that the decisions you make throughout your time here will ultimately influence who you become later in life, for better or worse. Choose wisely.

My advice to students coming to PHS is to actually get involved in the school. I regret not being involved in clubs or the plays, or even the dances the school put on. But, what I do know is that everyone coming to phs should get a chance to go on the Europe trips they put on every year. I went on 2 of them and they were the most amazing experiences and I think everyone should be able to experience that.

DONT SLACK OFF. Keep yourself motivated as much as possible. You want to be happy and proud of yourself, not ashamed of a bad grade. Give it your all. I highly reccomend if you want to give back to the community and be a part of something, Best Buddies changed my life. I only joined my senior year but it was amazing. I wish i had done all four years. BE YOURSELF.... don't feed into peer pressure or bad habits. i get it, everyone is curious to what this world has to offer and we try things and experiment with alcohol and drugs and maybe to fit in.... but ask yourself, what are the consequences, the risks, the benefits, is this really yourself? what would your parents say? its really not worth the risk taking.... we all try it and see what the "party" life is like becuase the "cool kids" do it, but dont change who you are and make bad choices to fit in. be a strong person and know right from wrong. be safe. your friends from middle school are about to change, people change. high school is a big world and youre just a little puppy. dont get lost in the crowd, dont fall into bad habits. don't get in the car with a drunk driver, dont put yourself in dangerous situations. Most of all, be you. be happy. give everything your all. 100% effort. into grades, friendships, teachers, relationships. really get to know your teachers and seek help. everyone here is willing to bend over backwards to help you, no matter what the case may be. really dont be afriad to come to ea teacher about anything. . usually when it feels like its the end of the world, its just the beginning!! you cant stop people from talking about you, but you can stop giving them something to talk about.... make smart choices. most of all, have fun! wish you the best of luck! xo

It goes by fast, it sucks while your stuck here but its done before you even know what happened. so while your stuck here apply your self and put your all into it. its so easy to say "oh ill do that later" or to push things off to the last minute. BUT DONT your time is too valuable so obsorb all you can out of every class, every teacher's lecture, and your days, because if you dont you will also one day be sitting here righting comments to freshmen like me wishing you had. All i can say is never fall back on work or anything. Keep your grades high and attendance low. Always strive to better yourself academically, in the end it will all be worth it. Don't slack for your first few years just stay up on everything so your senior year can be breeze and the only thing you have to worry about is which college to choose. Its a great school to learn at if you are willing to absorb the knowledge. Stay in class stay of the streets kids. Don't do drugs either you might die, or you might just expand your mind a little ;)

For upcoming freshman, do all your work from the beginning of high school till the very end and get the best grades you can , because colleges are all about how good your grades are and SAT scores , especially if you play sports, they won't just look at your talent, they'll look at your academics too, they don't just focus on how good you are at sports, got to have both. Don't mess around until you realize its to late to get those grades up.

My best advice would be go to school. Don't skip classes because you're bored or don't like a particular student/teacher. School is actually very important although at the young age you may not think of it that way. Listen to your teachers. If they reprimand you do not get upset, actually think about why. Take as much as you can from school, because even though it may seem so hard.. this part of your life is shaping you for the rest of your life.
